My husband and I were blessed beyond measure to have Erin as the doula for our 3rd baby's labor and delivery She was helpful and needed in so many ways, and I cannot thank her enough for all she did that day. She was able to meet me where I was at from start to finish and was definitely an appreciated guiding voice throughout the entire process. She could look at my status and knew the right thing to say or question to ask, when it was appropriate, and she gave me very helpful advice on things I could try, to manage the oncoming contractions. I was able to not only consult my husband on what steps we should take next, but it was really nice to be able to ask her opinion as well. She gave me the ability to use her knowledge and personal experience as a mother of 3 babies herself, to see where I was at and what I needed at that moment. This was absolutely invaluable to have! Once the delivery came closer, and we entered the hospital, she immediately went into action and made sure the staff knew what my wishes were. She was right there with me during each coming wave of pain and came to my side and helped me through some of the toughest contractions, using different fabric wrapping/pulling techniques that made all the difference in helping use gravity to slowly and safely bring my son into the world. And once the baby came, she not only made sure I was being properly looked at and that the baby was in good hands, but continued to help communicate to the staff what our wishes were and gave me the peace of mind that everything was taken care of. I could just focus on myself and my baby at that critical moment, and that was worth everything. And as a medical professional himself, my husband was able to focus on making sure the baby was doing okay and know that I had eyes on me and that someone was paying attention to my needs at the same time. We are so grateful for Erin's professionalism and expertise in everything she did for us, and we without a doubt recommend her services for your future birth as well! If you are looking to have the best possible birthing experience with a wonderful advocate by your side, then Erin is your gal. You will NOT be disappointed! — Jennifer S.At first I was skeptical about looking into a doula- I wasn’t really sure what they were. But the best decision I made was letting someone advocate for me. It allowed my husband to really focus on me when I needed him. Unfortunately, my doctors and nurses were not wanting to honor my birth plan, and weren’t taking no for an answer. My doctor even gave me a horror story of an example to try to scare me into getting what he wanted in my birth. It put my mind at ease to have Erin there reassuring me that I have every right to refuse unnecessary medical intervention, and continue with my birth plan.
My baby decided to make an appearance a little early, and I didn’t do as much research as I had planned. It was my first birth, and I had no clue what to expect coming into it. I ended up hiring Erin later in my pregnancy, after she was recommended to me. Erin is very knowledgeable, she showed us how to use different positions and pressure points to our advantage. Being up and mobile helped me feel more comfortable, and encouraged my contractions. She was able to teach my husband some of her techniques so he could to be hands on and help me through each contraction. In the end, I had an amazing experience and a quick birth with a healthy baby. I am so thankful God brought Erin into my story, everything truly happens for a reason.
